A strawberry picking farm with easy access

Strawberry picking begins in early January at Kamome Farm, a strawberry picking farm in Minami Ward , Okayama City . It's easily accessible by car, about 30 minutes from JR Okayama Station, and the parking lot is large, so it's very easy to get to. We checked the farm map in the parking lot and headed to reception. The chalk art on the map was cute and impressive. Chalk art is displayed throughout the farm.
A total of 20 vinyl greenhouses

The strawberry varieties grown at Kamome Farm are Haruichigo, Yumenoka, Akihime, Kaorino, Yotsuboshi, and Suzu, and the greenhouses are divided according to the variety. There were an impressive 20 greenhouses!
Start of 50 minutes of strawberry picking

After checking in and watching an explanatory video about strawberry picking, it's time to start picking! The time limit is 50 minutes, and you start once you enter the greenhouse. Although the coldest day of the season was here, inside the greenhouse it was warm like spring, and you didn't even need a coat. There is no place to put your luggage, so we recommend leaving any unnecessary luggage in your car. There is a sheet on the floor so your shoes won't get dirty.
Easier harvesting with elevated cultivation

On this day, I visited the "Yume no Ka" greenhouse. The strawberries are grown on elevated platforms, at about waist height from the ground, making strawberry picking very easy. There were lots of large, delicious-looking strawberries on the ground. As I was taking photos, a honeybee flew over. It's doing its job of pollinating the strawberries inside the greenhouse.
The best way to pick them is explained in the video.

Children can pick strawberries well because they watch an explanatory video before entering the greenhouse. The key is to pinch the stem at the top with your middle finger and index finger and use your wrist to snap it towards you. It will easily snap off with your hand and you can pick a strawberry. Be careful not to pull it as you may damage the plant! There are many large strawberries, and when you look closely, you will be surprised at how large the strawberry flowers are. I think this is because the staff picks off the small buds and takes care of them every day so that the strawberries will grow big and delicious.
Takeaway only is also fine

These are freshly picked "Yume no Ka" strawberries. They were very juicy and satisfying to eat. They have a rich sweetness and just the right amount of acidity, and the skin is firm and keeps well, so they are perfect as gifts. You can also just take home the strawberries you picked (they are sold by weight)!

Collaboration products with local cake shops

The sables sold at the farm are a collaboration product with "Art Brut," a popular cake shop with a store in Kita Ward , Okayama City . They are delicious sables with icing on top that are satisfying to eat.
There are also strawberry goods available

They also have cute strawberry themed goods!
There are also photo spots!

There is also a photo spot near the monitor where an explanatory video about strawberry picking is playing. Some customers were taking photos while enjoying a cafe on the terrace with their dogs.
Kamome Strawberry Parfait ~2025 version~

A parfait made with an abundance of strawberries, something you can only get at a strawberry farm! It's topped with so many strawberries that they look like they might roll off the ground, along with ice cream choux and gelato. Shaved strawberries are placed underneath the strawberries, and as you move from the top, which is sweet and sour and cool, to the bottom, you'll find cookies, jelly, snowball cookies, granola, wafers, strawberry sauce and more, all packed together with the strawberries. The fresh cream is refreshing and the amount is just right, so I was able to enjoy eating it all. The snowball cookies are also a collaboration with "Art Brut", and the texture that crumbles in your mouth is so addictively delicious!
Freshly picked strawberry pizza

The thin pizza base is topped with custard and crushed apples, and is topped with plenty of freshly picked strawberries. There was a fair amount of strawberries, so I was full! It was delicious.
Strawberry cream puff

A strawberry cream puff filled with 5 to 6 strawberries. The chewy cookie puffs are "Art Brut" cookie puffs, and they were fragrant and delicious even after some time had passed (I couldn't finish them during my visit, so I took some to go). Between the cookie puffs were the rich custard cream and fresh cream, and the tart strawberries all blended together in my mouth in a wonderful way! The cream puffs are only available on Saturdays, Sundays, and public holidays.

After eating a lot of sweets in a warm and cozy cafe, I enjoyed some coffee after the meal. The coffee was delicious and went well with the strawberry sweets. I recommend it!
