Omizuen

Japan, 803 Ashimori, Kita-ku, Okayama City, Okayama Prefecture 701-1463

It is a feudal lord garden belonging to the Kinoshita family, the former lords of the Ashimori domain, and is known as a fine example of a pond strolling style garden, said to be of the Kobori Enshu style. The date of construction of Kinsuien's garden is not certain from records, but it is estimated to have been built in the early 18th century, during the reign of the 6th feudal lord Kinsada. This is a daimyo garden. Designated as a scenic spot by Okayama Prefecture (March 27, 1952). Although the garden is small, it is well-maintained, and you can take a walk, eat lunch, and spend some relaxing time there. You can enjoy it all year round, but the scenery is especially beautiful during the cherry blossom and autumn leaves seasons.
