The Old Senkyo Jinjo Shogakko Elementary School

Built in 1907 (Meiji 40) as a Renaissance-style wooden school building, this elementary school is impressive with its perfectly symmetrical design and chalk exterior. It ended its role as an elementary school in 1990 (Heisei 2) and is now open to the public. The auditorium's double-folded Western-style ceiling gives it a dignified feel. It was also used as a filming location for movies such as ``Always: Sunset on Third Street'' and ``Grave of the Fireflies.'' Also popular is the ``Nostalgic School Lunch,'' which is offered for a limited time.
